Patient Safety

We believe it is important that you feel comfortable with your choice of health care provider and that you are fully informed on what precautions are being taken to insure your good health.

At Bassett Creek Dental, you will notice that each doctor and team member wears a face mask, gloves, and eye protection. In accordance with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), face masks are worn as barriers to aerosol spray, while gloves are worn as a barrier to the prevention of transferring bacteria or viruses through cuts or abrasions.

This, however, is only part of the picture. What you don’t see of our infection control procedure is just as important, if not more so, than what you do see. We want you to know that all operator surfaces are disinfected between each patient and all of our instruments are either disposable and thrown away after use, or are sterilized.

Water Safety System

For your protection and health, Bassett Creek Dental is using an A-dec® self-contained water system in our dental treatment rooms. The system is a dental waterline unit that continuously provides disinfected water for our patients. This system is designed to deliver optimally controlled, quality water for use in our patients’ dental treatment.

Sanitation and Sterilization

We also maintain a separate sterilization room fully equipped with two types of state-of-the-art sterilizers. We also maintain a separate sterilization room fully equipped with two state-of-the-art machines, an autoclave and a statim, which are used to sterilize all of our instruments.. We ensure that sterilizers are working properly by carefully testing their performance on a regular and frequent schedule.

Infection Control Coordinator

Since 1990, we have had a full-time Infection Control Coordinator on our team, ensuring that we follow the recommendations of the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Dental Group Practice.

Should you have any questions regarding our infection control protocol, please don’t hesitate to contact our Patient Coordinator.

“If you have a deep fear of going to the dentist these people will do anything in their power to reassure you and give you the smile you want. Also pain management is a high priority to them. Wonderful people and very kind. Their work is outstanding”
